Typically used for filling cracks and interior repair, The Ploppet Art Car crew has found that Great Stuff, in large quantities, can be used as a construction material to transform a sculpture with a funky, fluffy, foamy finish!
Thus emerges the ultimate Art Car construction collaboration of the year! We set up in front of Newt Grover's glass studio and opened it up for anyone to start spraying. Had such a blast filming and foaming with this crazy group, making an unforgettable day with such a high-impact result before our eyes.
Last week, the Ploppet crew (Claire and Kyle Johnson) came across a particular opportunity on the free section of Craig's List: boxes and boxes, thousands on thousands of snazzy, holographic American Girl stickers. After securing several carloads of the goods, the question remained: who would provide a loving home for all these lost girls?
My brother and Phoenix musician Trey Vincent was just the guy crazy enough to step up to the task! The entire Art Car was stuck up over the course of the day, thanks to the help of the crew that came through - fastest one yet!

This film was recorded in entirety during the 2022 Oscars award show. ONLY what was recorded during the 3 hours on Sunday, March 27th, from 5pm to 8pm, is permitted to be used. A week was given to edit the production. Here is my submission: To Hunt a Fairy, benkesselmedia's very first feature film!

Art Night AZ is a free admission monthly gathering in Phoenix, Arizona for artists of all mediums to create, network, and get inspired! I am often the photographer capturing the craziness of Art Night each month - but for the final one of the year, we did things a little differently:
A timelapse of a massive epoxy resin pour project led by my friends Claire and Kyle Johnson!
A 55'' by 100" mirror with epoxy resin poured over caulk groove designs, and colored with alcohol inks! Had such a blast being a psycho-chemist, creating the microbiology of other universes!
Claire and Kyle's artwork and visual enomalies, including The Ploppet art cars: spectacular sculpture cars bringing the party to every highway!

Musician Miss Pirate breached our shores and heisted our open mics in AZ during different ventures while she still lived in Germany. This was how we first connected, back at Phoenix Firebird Events.
We became good friends after that. It's fun to be open about art and lay out all of the challenges on the table as we navigate a world no one's ever been before.
We entered the playground of Meow Wolf, NM with the aim of enjoying ourselves. Unbeknownst to us at the time, this would take the form of an eclectically improvised movie. Nothing was planned, not even the idea to make something, before we set foot inside, and all assets used were captured within the walls. For the fun of making stuff with people you dig, and for the act of doing your own thinking, associating, and meaning-ing on what you see and hear. There are movies everywhere!
